Bangkok or Singapore — It's Complicated

August 1, 2026

One's chaos you can eat. One's order you can breathe. We want both, always.

One’s chaos you can eat. One’s order you can breathe. We want both, always.

Bangkok’s street stalls hand you pad kra pao at midnight and mango sticky rice from a cart, prices in single digits the whole way. Singapore’s hawker centers are cleaner, pricier, and still genuinely some of the best food in the entire region — that part isn’t even close. Bangkok is cheap enough that you can overspend purely on volume. Singapore costs more per meal, per ride, per everything, but you never wait, never get lost, never get scammed along the way.

Bangkok rewards wandering into the wrong alley on purpose. Singapore rewards having an actual plan and sticking to it without deviation.

Bangkok for the story. Singapore for the recovery from the story. Honestly, book them back to back.
